Weak Hero Class 2 Review: In ‘Week Hero Class 2’, Park Ji-hoon has once again returned with powerful action and tremendous fight scenes. This time some new friendships are also added to the story. Although new layers are added to the drama, it lacks the emotional depth of Season 1. Read our spoiler-free review.

what is the story

‘Weak Hero Class 2’ once again takes us into the world of Yeon Si-woon, a tomboy with a quiet nature but who shows tremendous fighting skills when needed. This time the story is darker, where Si-woon takes admission in a new school, Eunjang High, and again finds himself in the same bully culture he wanted to escape.

Si-woon is still heartbroken over Su-ho’s condition, who is in a coma after last season’s deadly fight. This emotional burden keeps him away from people, but circumstances become such that he again enters the battlefield.

how is the series

While the first season delved deeper into friendship, pain and revenge, the second season is so busy telling its story at a fast pace that it doesn’t give it a chance to delve into the emotions of the characters. Se-woon’s relationships with new friends like Baku (Ryo) and Joon-tae (Choi Min-young) are rushed and therefore don’t feel relatable.

how is the acting

Park Ji-hoon (Yeon Si-woon) also looked strong this season due to his old character development. His expressions, especially when he suppresses anger, are very effective. Geum Seong-jae, the eccentric character played by Lee Joon-young, leaves a deep impression on the audience even in a short period of time.

In this season, there is mention of a gang named ‘Union’, the mastermind behind which is Na Baek-jin (Bae Nara). Although this big villain and his agenda tries to add excitement to the story, the development of this character seems incomplete, he is also a school boy but how he got into this business is not shown. The rivalry between Baku and Baek-jin is definitely interesting, but the script could not handle it properly.

What is missing in the season?

The new characters were not given as much time and depth as they needed. Less emotional connection is shown like the first season. The story moves quickly, making many moments feel incomplete. Tried to cram a lot into eight episodes

what is good

Park Ji-hoon’s performance. Some great action scenes. Emotional moments from last season, Geum Seong-jae’s entertaining entry

final review

‘Weak Hero Class 2’ is definitely the next chapter in a great franchise, but it doesn’t have the depth and emotional power that made the first season special. Still, if you’re into C-Wool’s journey, this season is worth watching. Yes, the only hope is that if the third season comes, it will be able to properly balance the old friendship and emotional damage.
