Nishaanchi Movie Review: People were eagerly waiting for Anurag Kashyap’s crime drama film ‘Nishanchi’ and now this film has hit the big screen. Anurag Kashyap had told that he has worked very hard on the cast of this film so that people can get complete entertainment. But whether you should watch this film or skip it, let us find out in this review.
what is the story
The story of Neeshanchi begins in 2006 Kanpur. Here two twin brothers Bablu and Dablu (both characters are Aishwarya Thackeray) commit petty crimes. Along with his partner Pinky, they plan a bank lottery scam. Everything seems to be going well, but the heist fails due to the sudden arrival of the police. During this, Bablu is caught and is sentenced to seven years in prison.
The interesting thing is that Bablu hides the names of his associates. This is where the angle of trust and sacrifice gets added to the film. Flashback reveals that both the brothers were once part of a happy family, but the entry of Ambika Bhai (Kumud Mishra) had ruined their lives. Now whether the lives of these two brothers will be able to get back on track or not, or these two brothers will become a new name in the world of crime… to know this you will have to go to the theaters and watch the film.
How is the movie?
The first half of the film is fast paced and exciting. There is plenty of action and drama to be seen. But in the second half, the story seems to drag a bit and some subplots become long. This also affects the climax, although the story keeps the audience engaged till the end.
The music and background score of the film are its strong points. Music increases the suspense in the robbery scene, while it gives depth to the emotions in the family scene. Cinematography has also been successful in showing the real glimpse of Kanpur of 2006.
How is the acting?
Aishwarya Thackeray has done a wonderful job in the double role (BW and W). He has impressed by playing both the characters with different style and personality. Kumud Mishra is strong as a villain in the role of Ambika Bhai. Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub brings depth to the character of the police officer. Monica Panwar (in the role of mother) won hearts by playing an emotional and strong character. Vineet Kumar is remembered in the small but effective role of the father.
final review
Overall Nishaanchi is a good combination of crime and emotion. The pace of the first half and strong performances make the film worth watching, although the slow pace of the second half is a bit jarring. The cliffhanger end of the film may excite the audience for its sequel. The film gets 3 stars from Filmibeat Hindi.
