What is the story?
The story of the film Inspector Jende is inspired by the real-life police officer Madhukar Jende, who arrested notorious criminal Charles Sobhraj not only once but twice. In the movie, Charles is named Karl Bhojraj.
The story revolves around Inspector Zende (Manoj Bajpayee), who chases Karl Bhojraj (Jim Sarbh) and tries to catch him. This chase is like a cat-mouse game, in which sometimes the inspector wins and sometimes the criminal gets ahead.
How is the movie?
Director Chinmay Mandlekar has presented the story in a light-hearted manner. This thriller based on serious crimes has a combination of both comedy and drama. The tone of the film remains light and at many places you even laugh.
There are many scenes in the film which you will consider to be exaggerations, but they actually happened. For example, after catching Charles, the policemen sat on him while traveling in the train to keep him under control.
However, the biggest weakness of the film is its pacing. Constant chases and repeated scenes bore the audience at some places. Apart from this, there is predictability in the story, which reduces the effect of suspense.
How is the acting?
Manoj Bajpayee was wonderful as always. He plays Inspector Zende with both depth and charm. His acting is the biggest strength of the film. Jim Sarbh fitted perfectly into the role of Karl Bhojraj. His accent, style and acting make the character both dangerous and charismatic. Bhalchandra Kasam looked quite natural in the role of Zende’s partner. Sachin Khedekar left a memorable impression even in small roles.

Inspector Zende is an entertaining but limited thriller. In this, the audience gets to see everything like laughter, thrill and excellent acting. The biggest feature of the film is the strong acting of Manoj Bajpayee and Jim Sarbh, which makes it worth watching.
