It is shown in this film that a famous lawyer Abbas Khan marries Maulvi’s daughter Shazia Bano. There is a lot of love between the two in the beginning, but gradually the distance between them starts increasing and reaches its limit when Shazia becomes pregnant for the third time, so Abbas takes a second wife. Seeing this, the ground slips beneath Shazia’s feet.
Abbas gradually gets attracted towards his second wife and Shazia becomes lonely and Abbas now stops giving time to Shazia and starts quarreling with her on every issue. Angered by this, Shazia goes to her parents’ house with her three children. At first Abbas sends money for the children’s expenses but then he stops giving the money and gives triple talaq to Shazia in one breath.
After this, the fight for rights begins, for the rights of Shazia… for the rights of Shazia’s children… and for the rights of every woman whom a man leaves unclaimed.
